'Hmm, wonder what they are up, too?' I thought to myself. As the door opened to my class I waited until everyone was gone making sure they didn't take their projects with them, "Don't forget that report! One week, remember," I said as everyone continued to walk out. Taking a seat at my desk I put everything away and awaited my next class, my last for the day. This one would last forever, "Good afternoon, class. Today we will begin something new, we will be studying art from the Renaissance(sp?)..." my mouth worked but my mind was contemplating the events that occured in the hall just moments ago.

I walked out of the school and into the parking lot. Walking down the rows of parked cars, I came to a stop at a red Ford Mustang. I unlocked it and climbed into the driver's seat. Starting the car, I shifted into drive and drove off. I drove out onto the express way, going over 70. I exited the expressway and drove through the local city, making my way to a local motel. I parked the car and got out. Suddenly, I heard a loud scream. I quickly turned around and scanned the area. There was a loud, deep roard somewhere to my left. I started running, pulling out my gun from my back pocket. I skidded to a stopped at the entrance to an allyway between two buildings. Running towards me, there was a frightened woman with a demon close behind her. "Get down!!" I yelled to the woman. She stared at me with frightened eyes and ducked. "Hey ugly," I addressed the demon behind her. Lifting up a M1911 I pointed it at his (definitally a his if you know what I mean) ugly disformed face. He roared at me, siliva going everywhere when he did so. He started to charge me, claws scraping the concrete underneath him. "Eat lead ugly." I shot off five rounds into his face. He dropped to the ground, blood pooling beneath him. I walked towards the woman, now behind the demons lifeless form. She was stearing at the demon wide eyed and shaking, tears were streaming down her face. I crouched down beside her and put a hand on her shoulder, causing her to jump. She stared up at me with wide eyes.
"Wha--?" she whispered.
"Nothing," I told her, pinching her in a certain spot on her neck, causing her to pass out. I gently placed her limp form on the ground. Getting back up, I looked back over at the demon who was now slowly turning into an adult male. "Poor soul," I whispered. "So easily possessed. I walked out of the ally way, checking each way to make sure no one saw me, and walked back to the motel. I walked up to one of doors of the motel, I pulled out a key and stuck it in the key slot. I pushed open the door, pocketed the key, and shut the door behind me. The room was quaint, with a faint smell of smoke in the air. There were two single beds up against the right wall with a bedside table in between them. On the table was a lamp and a telephone. On the further bed lay scattered documents of recent unexplained events, claims of demons, vampires, and the like. In the middle there was a small book, old and worn, with edges of papers sticking out at random spots. I walked over to the bed and sat down on the edge. "What if she won't come, Uncle?" I whispered.

"Can I help you, ma'am?" The old man from behind the counter of the motel asked as I casually walked forward.
"Uh yeah. I was wondering if you've seen a geeky-looking girl I know. She's about yey-high and has long blonde hair. She's usually walking around with her nose in a book and never--"
"Oh! Room 17? She checked in just last night," the old man said.
"Hey thanks," I said, smiling.
"Whaddya need her for?"
"Now if I told you I'd have to kill you," I joked, strolling out of the lobby grinning.
The old man chuckled and returned to his newspaper.
I trudged lazily down the covered walkway past each motel door. My hands twiddled in my jean pockets as I looked for a useful tool. Before long, I reached room 17 and turned to face it. From my jean pocket I unvieled a new paper clip.
My eyes glanced down at the doorknob and I saw a newly installed card key acceptor. I gave an exhaspirated sigh and dropped my hands to my side in defeat. Guess lock picking is out of the question, I thought. And I thought I could have some fun!
I shoved the paper clip into my pocket once more and banged on the motel door, "Alex. It's me. Open up."
((Hee hee. Kristy is truly a caring younger sister, just you wait. She may seem like a biatch to Alex but it's all fun and games till someone loses a boyfriend. *cough*))

I heard a couple of a knocks at the door to my motel room. "Alex. It's me. Open up," someone called from the other side of the door. I got off of the bed, making it creak, and walked over to the door. I looked through the peep hole in the door and saw an eye looking back at me. I opened the door to find Kristy standing there. "So, curious are we?" I asked her, stepping aside to let her by.

"What, are you kidding me? Why else would you track me down. Unless you wanted to bother me and force me to kick your ass..." I trailed off.
"What was he hunting?" I asked, getting back to the topic on hand.
((Wow... really short. Sorry.))

"The usual," I said, walking over to the bed with all of the papers on it. "The last time I saw him, he had a lead of IT, but he wouldn't take me with him." I turned back around to look at Kristy. "He left me this," I told her seriously, picking up the leather bound, worn out book.

I took the journal from her and flipped it open. "He never goes anywhere without this... Where did he leave it?" I scanned through page after page, gazing at each article or notes on various urban legends such as book curses, Rusalkas, Leyaks, or Diwatas.
"Is this the only thing he left you? No note, no phone call?" I said, looking up from the pages.
